Sketchbot Designer Vinyl Toy
The retro-styled, pencil-wielding robot that started the studio. Self-produced from sketch to sculpt to 3D print to rotocast vinyl, Sketchbot launched in 2010 and spawned five colourway variants, resin exclusives and two sold-out DIY custom shows in NYC and LA.
Sketchbot began as a blog doodle in 2007 and became a 5.5" vinyl figure with a removable pencil accessory. The prototype was sculpted by hand, refined in Maya, rapid-prototyped, and cast in silicone before going to production.
Variant releases debuted at TOYSTREET NYC, San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic-Con with My Plastic Heart, plus DesignerCon resin editions cast by Pretty In Plastic. In 2010 the platform hosted the Sketchbot Custom Show with dozens of guest artists.
